1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Skodz mobile application or website ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Skodz.
2. Account Registration and Responsibilities
To use Skodz, you must register an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Keep your login credentials confidential and not share your account with others.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Notify us immediately at support@skodz.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Booking and Payment Rules
Skodz is a marketplace that facilitates bookings between customers and barbers. When you make a booking:
- Payments are processed securely via Paystack. By paying, you agree to Paystack's terms.
- For in-shop bookings, the full amount is charged at confirmation.
- For home-service bookings, a 50% deposit is charged upfront; the remainder is charged after service completion.
- Barbers set their own service prices. Skodz does not fix or cap service fees.
4. Platform Fee
Skodz charges a flat ₦100 platform fee per completed session. This fee is added to the customer's total at checkout and deducted from the barber's payout upon completion. There are no percentage-based commissions, no subscription fees, and no hidden charges for either party.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations are subject to the following rules:
- Cancellations made more than 2 hours before a booking are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made within 2 hours of the appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee, at the barber's discretion.
- If a barber cancels, the customer receives a full refund and a discount on their next booking.
- Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Make fraudulent or fake bookings.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse any barber, customer, or Skodz staff member.
- Use the Platform to facilitate transactions outside of Skodz in order to avoid platform fees.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Upload false or misleading portfolio images (barbers).
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise exploit the Platform's systems.
7. Account Suspension and Termination
Skodz reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account at its sole discretion, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or poses a risk to the safety or integrity of the Platform. Disputed suspensions may be appealed by contacting support@skodz.app.
8. Limitation of Liability
Skodz is a marketplace and is not a party to the service agreement between a customer and a barber. We do not guarantee the quality of any grooming service. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Skodz's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Skodz in the three months preceding the claim.
Skodz is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including lost profits, missed appointments, or personal injury sustained during a service.
9. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with a barber or another user, please first attempt to resolve it directly. If unresolved, contact our support team at support@skodz.app and we will mediate in good faith. Formal legal disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
