1. Who We Are
Skodz ("we", "us", "our") operates the Skodz mobile application and website at skodz.com. We are a barber booking marketplace incorporated and operating under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For privacy matters, contact us at support@skodz.app.
2. Data We Collect
When you use Skodz, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Identity data: Full name, profile photo.
- Contact data: Phone number, email address.
- Location data: Precise or approximate location when you search for barbers or offer home-service bookings. Location access is requested in-app and can be revoked at any time.
- Payment data: Transaction amounts and references. Full card or account details are handled exclusively by Paystack and are never stored on Skodz servers.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, bookings made, device identifiers, and app diagnostics.
- Barber-specific data: Portfolio photos, service menu, pricing, bank account details (for payouts), and government-issued ID (for verification).
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Process bookings and coordinate between customers and barbers.
- Process payments and barber payouts via Paystack.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and service-related communications.
- Verify barber identities and maintain platform safety.
- Improve the app through usage analytics and bug reports.
- Comply with applicable Nigerian law and respond to legal requests.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
Skodz relies on the following trusted third-party services, each operating under its own privacy policy:
- Paystack — payment processing. Data shared: transaction amount, payer identity. See Paystack Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. User data is stored in Supabase-managed servers. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Data shared: email address and message content. See Resend Privacy Policy.
5. Your Rights
As a user, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data. You may also use the in-app deletion flow or visit our data deletion page.
- Withdrawal of consent: Where processing is based on consent (e.g. location access), you may withdraw at any time via your device settings.

6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your identifiable personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by Nigerian law (e.g. financial records for tax and compliance purposes, which may be retained for up to 6 years).
7. Children's Privacy
Skodz is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will promptly delete that account and its associated data.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and secure infrastructure provided by Supabase. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
9. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Skodz after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
