Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Skodz mobile application or any related service (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Skodz is a marketplace platform that connects customers with independent barbers and grooming professionals ("Barbers"). Skodz does not itself provide grooming services — it provides the technology and infrastructure to facilitate bookings, payments, and communication between customers and Barbers.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Skodz. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and current.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@skodz.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

5. Bookings and Payments

• All bookings are subject to Barber availability and acceptance.
• Skodz charges a flat platform fee of ₦100 per completed booking
• Barbers receive the full booking value minus the ₦100 platform fee (plus 100% of any tips)
• All payments on Skodz are processed securely via Flutterwave or Paystack. By making a payment, you agree to the respective payment processor's terms of service.
• Home-service bookings may require a deposit, which is refunded to your wallet upon cancellation within the permitted window.
• Tips are optional and paid directly to Barbers after service completion.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

Customers may cancel a booking before confirmation without charge. Once confirmed:

• Cancellations made more than 2 hours before the scheduled time will receive a partial refund to the Skodz wallet.
• Cancellations within 2 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee at the Barber's discretion.
• In the event a Barber cancels, a full refund will be issued to your original payment method or Skodz wallet.

7. Barber Conduct

All Barbers on Skodz are independently verified. Skodz reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban any Barber found to violate platform policies, including but not limited to: no-shows without notice, fraudulent behaviour, or misconduct during a service.

8. Customer Conduct

Customers agree not to:

• Make bookings with no intention to attend ("ghost bookings").
• Harass, threaten, or abuse any Barber or Skodz staff.
• Attempt to circumvent the platform by soliciting services off-platform.
• Submit false or misleading reviews.

9. Skodz Pro and Skodz Black Memberships

Skodz offers two optional paid membership tiers:

• Skodz Pro (₦5,000/month) — grants priority booking slots, access to high-end Pro barbers not available to standard users, unlimited free rescheduling, and early access to newly joined barbers.
• Skodz Black (₦10,000/month) — invitation-only. Includes all Pro benefits plus dedicated concierge booking, exclusive access to celebrity Black-tier barbers, and a guaranteed availability promise including same-day home service.

Membership plans are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months. Skodz reserves the right to modify membership perks with reasonable notice. Skodz Black requires a valid invitation code and is subject to additional eligibility criteria.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and technology on the Skodz platform is owned by or licensed to Skodz. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Skodz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages resulting from the conduct of any Barber. Your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
